Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund in the News

October 2009. . .

Caz Werda knows about giving. At the age of 24, while fighting in Iraq, Caz lost his eyesight when a roadside bomb exploded just a few feet from his Humvee. The shrapnel ripped most of his face apart and nearly killed him.

He was awarded the Purple Heart and spent the next nine months literally having his face rebuilt. This Army Specialist, assigned to the First Infantry Bravo Company, would have to rebuild his entire life at the same time.

Now, for all he has given for us, a group called “The Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund," is helping Caz by paying for needed changes to his home.
